We are about two-thirds of the way through our first flight from Indianapolis to Phoenix. There is a little bit of turbulence, but nothing at all serious. Our first-time flyers seem to be doing okay. The biggest concern regarding our flight is that the Wi-Fi costs sixteen dollars per person and doesn't allow us to watch Netflix.
We were dismissed from school at noon and left for Indianapolis after some last-minute preparations. There were minor complications at airport security, but we made it through okay.
After landing, we have a layover in Phoenix for an hour and twenty minutes. Then, we will board the second aircraft for the flight to Santa Ana. Our ETA is 9:30 P.M. Pacific time. From there, a shuttle bus will finally transport us to our final destination of Anaheim.
Of course, more updates to come. In the meantime, please follow Emily's campaign on Twitter.
Join us at Monical's in Monticello between 5 and 8 P.M. THIS Wednesday, April 22! Frontier BPA will be waiting tables, washing dishes, etc. and will collect the tips for the Nationals Fund. We will also receive a portion of both in-house and to-go sales within this timeframe.
If you need an excuse to eat out, Wednesday is EARTH DAY! If that doesn't deserve celebration, I don't know what does.
Please invite ALL of your friends and family to Monical's this Wednesday to support our trip to NLC. Hope to see you there!
On Friday, Frontier BPA hosted a Kids Activity Night fundraiser at the high school, the same night as the renowned FEF Basket Bingo tournament. Frontier BPA collected proceeds and donations for the Nationals Fund.
Activities included matball, freeze tag, soccer, coloring, hopscotch, duck-duck-goose, and more. We sorted the children into color-coded groups and gave them corresponding necklaces. Some activities were indoors; others were outside behind the school or at the football field and track.
Frontier BPA provided dinner for the attendants—cheese and pepperoni pizza from Little Caesars. Afterward, we took the group to the Chalmers Community Park playground just down the street from the school.
When Basket Bingo approached its end, we went inside and watched a movie on the big screen as we waited for parents to pick up their children.
The activity night was a success (luckily, the admission fees covered the pizza!), and it was a lot of fun. Thank you those who helped put this on as well as the parents who supported our trip to California by participating in the fundraiser!
